Arrest transitions in model colloid-polymer mixtures

We use colloid polymer mixtures as a model system to understand arrest transitions of weakly attractive colloids at intermediate volume fractions.

Arrested phase separation

A new scenario for structural and dynamic arrest. We demonstrate that colloidal suspensions at intermediate volume fractions can undergo an arrest transition that is driven by phase separation. More provocatively stated: the equilibrium phase behavior can drive the system into a nonequilibrium arrested state.
